About Alison Donley

My name is Alison Donley. I’ve been practicing and teaching yoga, meditation, and mindfulness for 43 years in studios, as a former studio owner, as a hospice volunteer, for Unite for HER, and in academia.  

My 24 years in the Kinesiology Department at West Chester University provided an opportunity to create the curriculum, material, and coursework for 3 academic yoga classes. These classes were the foundation for a 200-hour Yoga teacher-training program created in 2010 for my former studio and for WCU that continues through Cage Free Yoga.

As an advisor and provider for Unite for HER (www.uniteforher.org), Yoga is shared nationally as self-care and support to those dealing with a breast or ovarian cancer diagnosis. It is an honor to be a part of their team of providers. I’m an E-RYT 500 and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) with Mental Health First Aid training, Citi Research certification, and research background in Yoga.  I offer private therapeutic yoga sessions and small group instruction.

Now out of the “cage” of studio ownership and full-time academic teaching, I still love sharing yoga and creating safe, supported space to guide others to feel the joy of inspired movement through mindful breathing.
